British NDP Tumble Championships May 2011 Katie Guild

British NDP Tumble Championships were held in Stoke on Trent

Katie Guild competed in Elite level 2 last weekend. Well just about didn't compete, we were watching all the competitors doing there tumble runs, but Katie had not been called, it was discovered that there was a computer error and Katie had been mistakenly withdrawn.

Small panic from the coach, but it was all sorted and Katie jumped into line.

Katie's 1st run went well she was in joint 1st Place a great achievement considering there are only  3 warm up runs on a track she had never been on before, and competing against the best from each region in Britain. (So no pressure)

Her 2nd run went well till the landing where she done a super high pike back Somme showed the pike position beautifully then bounced on the landing onto her rear end and both hands on the floor, well we thought that was it the end of a medal placing over a full mark was deducted.

Before the scores came up, we were just hoping to be in the top 8 out of 10 competitors. Wow even with the fall Katie was laying 5th she made it to the final.

The 3rd run was just perfection, we had no idea where she would be placed, we were hoping to at least keep 5th position. Then the final scores came out.

Katie had excelled her self and proved what a great competitor she is.

Final placing joint second, Silver medal.

Katie’s final score 75.15

1st Place was only point 6 of a mark away 75.75

Well done Katie, Another proud moment for DGC2k
