Ladies Artistic 4 Piece Gymnastics comprises: Floor | Asymmetric Bars (uneven) | Beam | Vault

Floor exercises are performed on a 12m x 12m floor area, constructed to music and the gymnast should show a variety of acrobatic skills, flexibility and choreography (dance) The coach and gymnast put a routine together In accordance with the grade they are working towards, but the gymnast should add their own personality.

Asymmetric Bar routines comprise of skills performed in succession with no pauses The coach will train the gymnast to effectively flow from one move into the next A great deal of strength and courage is required which the coach develops with the gymnast through the national grading system.

Beam Work is performed on a straight beam 100 mm or 4" wide, where the gymnast displays a succession of balance and tumble skills, Courage, Determination and balance are required to master the beam, but again through coaching skills and the national development plan, the gymnast will progress smoothly through their grades.

Vault is where the gymnast takes a nun up to the vaulting table and with the use of a Reuter board (spring board) performs a single tumbling skill over the vault to a landing area, Speed Strength and co-ordination are taught through the grades.
